'Frames' - A new theatre production by Class Act Theatre Inc.

Body image and the quest for the "perfect body" is a major concern of Australian youth.  "Frames", presented by Class Act Theatre Inc. is a new Australian work that deals with the following issues:


  • Body image
  • Self-esteem
  • Identity issues
  • Self-harm in youth
  • Substance abuse
  • Family and peer relationships
  • Family break-ups

FREE Parenting Workshops - City of Stirling

City of Stirling Family Services is offering the following free programs for parents to be held at the Stirling Community Centre in Tuart Hill.  The workshops relate to Health & Wellbeing, strengthening families and connecting communities.

Monday 2nd June, 6:30pm - 8:30pm 
Maggie Dent - a dynamic seminar for families, schools and communities to build resilience and connectedness in 12 - 25 year olds.

Tuesday 10th June, 6:30pm - 8:30pm 
Youth Focus - a session for parents and friends to increase awareness of common mental health issues that young people in their lives may experience.

Tuesday 17th June, 6:30pm - 8:30pm 
Youth Focus - an interactive session for parents and friends to increase their skills and confidence to identify possible mental illness and assist them to access appropriate help.

Tuesday 24th June, 6:30pm - 8:30pm 
Debbie Bushell - a parenting specialist, resilience coach for teens and an author Debbie speaks about an approach to parenting to promote responsible behaviour in teenagers.  Also on offer is a parenting model that manages the trickier aspects such as teen boundaries and making healthy choices.

Free 2 hour workshops run by Anglicare

Separation is difficult for all family members involved.  Anglicare's Supporting Children After Separation team have fun workshops to help children adjust to the changes in their family. 

2-hour Workshops (Anglicare branches offering the workshops include Gosnells, Joondalup, Mandurah & East Perth) are run by tertiary qualified experienced counsellors working with children and young people from separated families.

Anglicare also offer individual and group counselling for children whereby children may attend up to 4 strength-based individual counselling sessions with a qualified counsellor then be referred to the group program called "Building Resilience in Children".  These groups offer children the chance to connect with others of their same age group who have experienced family separation and develop upon their skills to cope with life challenges.  The groups run for 8 weeks in metro locations (East Perth, Joondalup, Mandurah, Gosnells).  Call 9263 2104 for more details.
